After tearing through 2 stick blenders in 6 years, I tried this one — and let me tell you — the KitchenAid takes the prize. The motor (the highest powered I found on the market) is tough enough for batters and heavy mixing, and still with the multiple speeds and whisk attachment, is light-handed enough for making fast work of whipping cream, and egg whites.

Equipped with an LCD display for easy stitch selection, this computerized free-arm sewing machine features 60 built-in stitches including utility stitches for mending and garment construction, decorative stitches, heirloom stitches, and quilting stitches, as well as seven styles of one-step auto-sizing buttonholes. Programmable 7mm stitch width and length, as well as an adjustable dial control for thread tension, deliver enhanced sewing flexibility. Operate the machine with the foot control or without, using the built-in one-touch start/stop and reverse functions.

Designed with all-metal construction and a 6-quart capacity, this powerful stand mixer features a 575-watt motor for handling tough mixing jobs. Any person that has ever tried to slice the golden crust of a baguette with a paring knife, or to peel an apple with a chef’s knife, knows the importance of stocking a wide variety of cutlery in the kitchen. A single recipe may require four or five different knives to cut, dice, and slice with efficiency and ease. To cover this wide gamut, Ginsu offers a new comprehensive cutlery set. From the International Traditions cutlery line, the 14-piece set comes equipped with a 3-1/2-inch paring knife, 4-1/2-inch utility knife, 5-inch boning knife, 8-inch slicer, 8-inch chef’s knife, 8-inch bread knife, six 4-1/2-inch steak knives, kitchen shears, and knife block.
